Junior Closer - Mortgage Department

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Closer to join our dynamic mortgage team. In this role, you will assist in the closing process for mortgage loans, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and timely, and helping to facilitate smooth transactions from approval to funding. The Junior Closer will work closely with senior closers, loan officers, and underwriters to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of closing documents and ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Review loan files for completeness, ensuring all conditions and requirements are met before closing.
  • Coordinate with title companies, borrowers, and lenders to schedule closing dates and facilitate the timely execution of mortgage documents.
  • Verify that all documents are correctly executed and notarized, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records for all closed loans and ensure that all documents are filed appropriately.
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to resolve any outstanding issues or discrepancies prior to closing.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of the final closing package to investors and other parties as required.
  • Monitor the status of each loan file and update appropriate stakeholders regarding the progress of closings.
  • Assist with post-closing audits and review any issues or discrepancies in the closing process.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in mortgage, real estate, or title industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, loan officers, and other internal and external parties.
  • Basic understanding of mortgage loan documents, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with loan processing software is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with mortgage lending regulations (e.g., RESPA, TILA, TRID).
  • Previous experience working in a closing or title company environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
